I also do agree on the part when you said at one point we felt bad for Emily!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4983736566980421299.post-17062368925077259622014-07-30T21:56:53.848-07:002014-07-30T21:56:53.848-07:00THIS IS SUCH A GOOD POST OH MY GOD. Al...Def noticed the TVS poster in April's room. Also at the first house party a Coconut Records song plays (Jason Schwartzman.) Honestly I was kind of unimpressed by this movie. I felt like a lot of the symbolism/metaphors or whatever tropes that work in short fiction ("I'm not Bob" and other such callbacks) didn't transfer well to a film. I didn't like the voiceover for Emily's story. I think since film is visual and not textual it should show, not tell. Also, a lot of the cinematography felt forced to me/like it was trying too hard (like we get that Teddy and Fred don't respect public property without having to look at a spilled milkshake on the ground for twenty seconds) but my boyfriend pointed out that it could have been intentional to reflect the characters. Like the movie itself was trying super hard to be cool/look right/impress people with its "coolness" which really made me think. This movie blew me away in a way that I didn't expect. Like I knew I would love it, but I never knew I 'd love it this much. The cinematography was amazing and was such a beautiful texture. Compared to other Coppola films, I think this movie has my favorite grain in terms of the filming and cinematography. There's a really good interview with Autumn Durald. And there's a video about the making of the movie on youtube as well. And the acting was really good too. I think Jack's inexperience combined with the ages of the other actors, like Nat Wolff and Zoe Levin, is what makes it so authentic. And because these stories were rooted in truth. And I think they all gave really important performances. Idk. I feel like it was a really important film and will continue to be analyzed and obsessed over and critiqued, just like a Hughes film. And as a HUGE/LIFELONG Hughes fan, that's not something I'm saying lightly at all. So yeah. I just really liked this movie. okay. i'm done i think.assata13https://www.blogger.com/profile/06334585764331743104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4983736566980421299.post-76526707450472640012014-06-20T13:05:56.129-07:002014-06-20T13:05:56.129-07:00I was stoked when I saw you post a film muse for o...I was stoked when I saw you post a film muse for one of the films i've been dying to see!! JACK KILMER AND NAT WOLFF PRETTY MUCH GAVE THE BEST THEY COULD AND I PERSONALLY THOUGHT IT TURNED IT SO RAD! I'm praying to God Jack Kilmer continues acting, he has so much potential i'm actually in love with him. Same with Nat Wolff, they're both so mysterious it's mesmerizing.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13876047325104850554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4983736566980421299.post-16857640870185377822014-06-19T23:53:21.135-07:002014-06-19T23:53:21.135-07:00Hi! Ive been on board with Emma Roberts since Unfabulous (it was the mid 2000's Lizzie Mcguire for real tho!). Im all in support of the Coppolas/ Schwartman collabs. Ive been excited about the movies soundtrack when i first heard the song Palo Alto in the trailer. I feel like this might sort of be like this generation's version of Kids. Dont get me wrong im still hella skeptical and iffy about James Franco's umm recent decisions but i can still appreciate the work hes done and the rest of the cast has done in the movie. Jack Kilmer is too cute and im glad to see Nat Wolff redeem himself after the naked brothers band. Lmao crayayayayyayazy carrr.

Styleriottt.blogspot.comAmaka Maduhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07220359102410390792noreply@blogger.com
